The training and skills development programme focuses on providing opportunities to individuals, particularly in rural and peri-urban areas, to enhance their employability and entrepreneurial abilities. Ithunga has implemented projects under this programme, such as the IDT Expanded Public Works Programme (Sustainable Livelihoods), the National Skills Fund/NSF Rural Development SMME Cooperative Training, and the AgriSETA Port St. Johns & Richmond Skills Training, aim to equip participants with practical skills that are in demand in various industries.
In collaborating with youth focused institutions such as KZN DSD & DUT, Ithunga implements youth centred programmes that aim to empower young people through education, mentorship, and skills development. It provides opportunities for personal growth and development, helping youth to become active and productive members of society.
Ithunga has implemented projects under this programme, such as the NLC Arts Development Project, the NAC Arts Organisation Support Funding (AOSF), the National Heritage Council (NAC) Zulu Dance Documentary, and various KZN Carnival and Arts Development projects, focus on promoting and preserving arts, culture, and heritage. These projects support artists and cultural practitioners, showcase traditional and contemporary art forms, and contribute to the cultural identity and vibrancy of communities.

We’ve have established projects under this programme, such as COGTA Community Work Programme, the Lima Rural Development Community Work Programme, the IDT Expanded Works Programme, the IDT Expanded Public Works Programme (Sustainable Livelihoods), and various CWP Skills Programme Implementation Training projects, focus on enhancing peri-urban and rural community development.
